The Mocap Vaults presents our first class in Canada!


On Saturday 8th September 2018, in central Toronto we will run our Introduction to Motion Capture Acting Masterclass.  

Tutors will be Mocap Vaults Co-Founder John Dower & Motion Capture Actor and consultant to video game developers, Pascal Langdale. 

We will be helping students to build a solid foundation for working in performance capture.  A physical day of exercises, play and exploration as well as some theory on the technology and methodology of how Mocap works.

Film School trained in UK and Poland and a Veteran Director of Film, TV and Videogames of 25 years, John Dower was Mocap director for the cutscenes for Lionhead/Microsoft's "Milo & Kate" & Eon/Activision's "007 Legends" among others.  He has also directed voice on numerous games, BBC interactive online drama "Signs of Life", acted as consultant to Animation Directors for AAA Games Developers, taught Screen Acting & Directing for several Acting & Film Schools including ALRA, East 15, National Film & TV School, Northern Film School, MET Film School in UK and Westerdals Norway & Ohio University in Athens, Ohio abroad, as well as winning awards worldwide for his short films and directing numerous episodes of Television Drama eg "EastEnders", "Wolfblood" and "Casualty". 

Pascal Langdale was originally a dancer (Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst Theatre School) and then trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London (RADA).  Combining his movement skills and specialty in Nonverbal Behavior into acting, Pascal has combined a career in Television, theatre and film,  with extensive work in Motion capture. Since moving to Toronto in 2011, Pascal has been seen in productions including "Killjoys", "Suits", "Bitten", "Murdoch Mysteries" and "Nikita". His debut as lead character Ethan Mars in "Heavy Rain" for Quantic Dream/Sony was followed by credits in "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell:Blacklist", "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" and "The Division". Pascal continues to regularly work in a Mocap suit for Ubisoft Canada,  and has produced co-written and starred in 2 plays utilising Mocap - Live-animated interactive dramas "Faster Than Night" and "The Augmentalist".  He is currently consulting on Behavioral Library creation and application on two productions.

We are proud that the class will be run in association with The Dirt Underneath Actors Place in Toronto, run by Acting Coach John Gordon, which runs classes and workshops for actors wishing to extend their skills, training and experience.
