Oliver Hollis-Leick and I were in mid-flow in his hotel room after a day in the Mocap Studio. We were in the midst of capturing Cinematics for Activision’s Bond extravaganza “007 Legends” at Eurocom’s studio outside Derby. The year was 2012… I think it was Oli’s idea - I can’t be sure, but we agreed there and then that we should start training people in performing for Mocap

Initially, our idea was to have a simple book signing for “Performing for Motion Capture - A Practitioners' Guide,” a book I co-authored with Mocap Vaults veteran John Dower. But the event quickly grew to include a Q&A session, and then expanded even further to include Jarrell Hall, Marc Morisseau, Darren Bailey, Richard Dorton, and myself. The knowledge in the room was immense, covering everything from mocap acting and stunts to the Unreal Engine, game writing, improvisation, and even AI updates.
