The second part in the Heroes & Monsters program. A physical day of exercises with Pascal Langdale exploring professional techniques for creating environments, worlds, props and other characters in your imagination.

One of the most important tasks for any performance capture actor is to fully realise detailed environments that can be interacted with and responded to. Whether it is the extraordinary landscape of Avatar, the cybernetic and digital Oasis from Ready Player One, or the harsh battlefields of Call of Duty, we need to have a consistent method for building rich, detailed and stable worlds in our minds. This class will teach you the skills to do this in a way that goes beyond thinking and into a physical, experiential realm. You won’t need to think about how cold the tundra is, you will already be shivering!

Time: 10am to 6pm on April 28th 2024

Location: The Attic Studio, 1402 Queen Street E, Toronto, ON, Suite C3 (3rd Floor)

Directions: Building entrance is through a side door down the alleyway beside Queen Margherita Pizza. The door will be on the right.

This class does not take place in a mocap studio as it would be surplus to need and additional cost at this stage. 

*Please note that this class does not make use of mocap technology. At this stage, the technology serves only as a distraction and slows down the process considerably. We introduce the mocap studio tech later on in our curriculum.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We require seven days notice prior to the class in order to be able to offer you a refund. If you notify us within seven days of the class then we will try to find a replacement and refund you but cannot guarantee this will be possible.
